Everest Expedition
Mount Everest (8,848m) is much more than the most famous mountain on Earth. It has unparalleled beauty and mystery. Summiting Mount Everest is the pinnacle of a climber’s career. Other climbers are content to view the magnificence of the mountain from Kala Pattar, Gokyo Ri, or by visiting the base camp. An expedition to the summit of Mount Everest puts you in a completely new category as a climber. Once you summit this majestic mountain, you become one of an elite club of the most vigorous and adventurous people who have ever lived. Mt. Everest’s local names give you a sense of how the mountain commands respect from all that see her. Standing incredibly tall and silhouetted against the shared sky of Nepal and Tibet, this mountain has many names, including Chomolungma and Sagarmatha. Only the most serious and dedicated mountaineers can fulfill their dream of reaching the summit of Mount Everest.
Since she is a sherpa herself, Lhakpa Sherpa knows who the strongest climbers are. Because of her World Record accomplishments, she commands respect among sherpas and climbers. Lhakpa speaks English but also the Sherpa language, so the other Sherpa understands her well. She pays them generously to be happy, which is extremely important for a smooth climb. When undertaking a tricky climb like Mount Everest, you want complete trust in your team. Having Lhakpa’s reputation and presence will ensure your safety and comfort as you achieve your dream.
When you choose an expedition with Cloudscape Climbing, we want you to know exactly what to expect once you reach Nepal. After final preparations for the Everest Expedition in Kathmandu, we will fly to Lukla and begin our Tea-house Lodge trek up to Everest base camp. We establish our base camp at 5300m at the foot of the Khumbu Icefall (Base Camp) before making our way to Camp 01 at 6200m. We then advance to Camp 02 at 6,600m, proceed through the Western Camp, and up to the Lhotse face to Camp 03 at 7200m. Finally, we’ll head up the South Col to Camp 04 at 8000m before making our Everest summit push. We strive to conduct a safe, successful, and enjoyable experience and will do everything possible to achieve each goal.
