Itinerary

Day 1: Arrive in Kathmandu
You will arrive in the capital of Nepal, Kathmandu. Meeting at the airport and transfer to the hotel. Walk around the city. We recommend a walk through the old town, walking around Durbar Square, and watching the new Royal Palace, Parliament, and numerous temples.

Day 2; Schedule flight to Lukla (2840m)
Trek to Phakding. (2610m). Fly from Kathmandu to Lukla in a small plane (about 45 min). The arrival route starts the transition to the village. Phakding (2.5 h) (2640 m) or to the village. Monjo (4 hrs) (2800 meters), depending on the level of the group.

Day 3: Phakding – Namche Bazaar (3,440m/11,280 ft) 5 – 6 hrs The trail follows the narrow valley of the river. Dudh Kosi, the arrival in the village. Namche Bazaar (6 h) (3400 m).

Day 4: Rest Day in Namche Bazaar (3440m) for acclimatization

Day 5: Namche Bazaar to Tengboche Monastery (3,870m/12,694ft) 5 – 6 hrs. We set out towards Tengboche, enjoying a superb view of Mt. Everest, Mt. Nuptse, Mt. Lhotse, Mt. Ama Dablam, and a close-up view of Thamserku. Our trek follows a more or less smooth trail with a few ups and downs, which will not bother us as the magnificent view of the Himalayas keeps us company throughout the journey. We can spot wildlife, musk deer, a herd of Himalayan Thar, and multicolored pheasants along the way. The trail goes gradually down up to Kayangjuma. The path eventually reaches Sansa, the major trail junction to Gokyo valley and Everest Base Camp.

Day 6: Tengboche to Dingboche (4,360 m/14,300ft) 5 – 6 hrs. With mountains at its backdrop, the monastery at Tengboche looks more spectacular in the morning. At this juncture, we can take pictures of the sanctuary and the scenery around it and, as usual, start the day’s journey. We choose the upper trail for better views on the way to Pangboche village. We pass through several Chortens and Mani walls and small villages.

Day 7: Rest day for Dingboche for acclimatization

Day 8: Dingboche to Lobuche (4910m) 5-6 hrs. walk after breakfast to the lodge. The trail leads through the valley and gets to the bottom of the hill, and uphill begins to Dugla. After that, the path continues to climb up to the ridge. There are many monuments of dying Sherpa on Mount Everest’s glacier. The trail leads up to the Lobuche area.

Day 9: Lobuche – Hike up Kala Pattar (5550m)
7-8 hour walk. We will take a dark climb up to the Kala Pattar in the early morning. It takes a couple of hours to walk up to the famous viewing point of Kala Pattar (Black Rock) at 5,545m/18,192ft; this small peak offers the best views of Mt. Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse, Pumori, and Ama Dablam. The view is golden along with sunrise and then back to its original color of white snow-capped. Enjoy light on Everest as long as you want, then hike back to Gorekshep. Have breakfast, and retrace back to Lobuche overnight.

Day 10: Lobuche to Chhukung (4,730m/15,518ft). 6-7 hrs.

Day 11: Trek to Island Peak base camp
Today is another short trek of four hours to the Island Peak base camp (about 5400 m). Accommodations will be tented camps for the next two days, with food prepared by our professional chef. Overnight at tented camp.

Day 12: Hike up to Island Peak High Camp (5600m).

Day 13: Summit to Island Peak (6187 m) & return to Chhukung (4750 m)- 9 to12 hrs. This is our primary adventure day. Weather permitting, we’ll start early in the morning to climb up Island Peak (6187m). After Camp 1, we ascend through a gully and traverse to the right. After making our way up a wide stone field, we cross the ridge to the glacier and crevasses. After a safe trip to the top, we make our way down the same day and return to Chhukung.

Day 14: Chhukung to Tengboche (3,867m/12684ft)
4-5 hrs walk. The trek comes down from Chukkung, heading toward Panboche. After Panboche, we use the same trail back to trek. The path leads down to the river. We walk through the forest after crossing the river for an hour toward Tyangboche to stay overnight at the lodge.

Day 15: Tengboche to Namche Bazaar (3440m/11,283ft) 5-6 hours. The trail descends to the Dudhkoshi River and continues to Kyungjuna. An easy walk leads you to Namche bazaar overnight, where you will have earned a warm shower. It is best after a few days of trekking. Rest overnight at the lodge.

Day 16: Trek to Lukla (2,652m/8,700ft)
7-8 hours. After breakfast, the walking trail drops downhill through the pine forest to a bridge and continues to Monju. Formalities must be done at the National park check post at Monju. The walk continues to Phakding, where we will have lunch. Our final destination is Lukla, where we will stay overnight at a lodge.

Day 17: Fly to Kathmandu (1,300m/4,264 ft)
A 35-minute scenic flight is usually in the morning due to the weather conditions. The guide will complete all airport formalities before breakfast. Your luggage will be waiting for you at the airport with the help of our sherpas and porters. Once the guide receives news about your flight arrival at Lukla airport, they will notify you about the aircraft’s arrival. Photographs are welcome before your flight to Kathmandu. Once you are at the airport in Kathmandu, the guide will assist you to your hotel by private vehicle.

Day 18: Morning drive to Airport for the final departure to your home country.
